v6 dual exhaust

RE: v6 dual exhaust
Ask this in the v6 section and you'd probably get a lot better responses ... I imagine there are quite a few threads on it.
From my limited understanding however, 2 GT mufflers are a popular choice for the v6'ers and can actually net a few HP too.

Before I bought my GT, I used to have a 2000 V6. When I lived in Texas I had a local shop convert me over to a dual flowmaster setup. Sounded decent. Cost me $350 for everything back in 2000.

Try replacing that V6 mufler with a passengers side OEM stock
muffler take-off first. Under $25 and impressive in sound. HP
wise I would do the duals and the rear GT bumper cover swap.
Cutting the V6 rear bumper for the drivers side outlet cover is
somehow cheating.

RE: v6 dual exhaust
Exhaust is like wheels, Everyone likes something different. I have done 3 mustangs(3.8, 3.9) , 2----4.0 rangers, and a 4.0 Explorer sport. I tried true duel and , TO ME that sounds like crap, Like a mad Honda.
The best sound I have found is a 1 in 2 out Two Chamber muffler and duel exhaust pipes. I have never done a 197 and a 1 in 2 out wouldn't work, if your looking to have two mufflers in the back. If your going to have true duels, then some short 3 chambers would probably be the best sounding. But, you may like that loud Honda noise , If so then 2 three chambers wont work for you.
If I was going to duel a 197 -6, I would put a 1 in 2 out 2 chamber, under the car and Gut-out two muffles to hang in the back and run the exhaust pipes straight threw the mufflers in back.
4.0 with a 1 in 2 out sound as close to a V8 as I could make a 6 sound.

I bought two GT Takeoff mufflers from a member on this forum. I ordered Pypes True Dual System w/Street legal x pipe from V6 Mustang Stuff for $329.00.
I'm cutting my bumper....I've seen it done and I think it would look nice.
Some guys went with Ninosport while others do straight pipes or an H pipe set up.

I have an 05 V6 we just put the magnaflow (part #16605) on and they are awesome. The sound is fantastic, install was easy and everything came in the box. Cost was $457.00 from planetmagaflow. They give a discount for members of mustang forums also.
