Default Driveway Fender Bender - UPDATE

Unfortunately, a family member accidently backed into my baby today. The damage was pretty minimal - could have been much worse. I'm going to need a new front bumper (dent popped out, but scratched pretty bad), a new headlight (mounting bracket snapped), and maybe a new front driver side fender.

Two questions:

1. Can the dent be pounded out? Or am I looking at a new fender? I'd rather keep the original fender, but I'll go with whatever costs less.
2. What can I expect to pay to get it fixed at the dealership? I don't want to get hosed.

Thanks!

I have headlights and a bumper from my conversion if you need. Sorry to hear about it but if you want to laugh, my wife calls me yesterday at work and told me she saw a golf ball fly out of Beverly Hills Country Club and land right on top of her Mercedes as she was driving. The C.C. is going to cover the damage, but what luck!

It's difficult to tell for sure from a photo but that fender could possibly be repaired. If you're going to replace the bumper cover (would it not be possible to repair it?) then try the aftermarket guys like roush etc. who sell the parts from their conversions - you may also get a headlamp from the same source.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune - hope it's fixed soon.

Thanks for the help so far. Yea, I guess the thing to would be to take it in for an estimate. I do not want to go aftermarket. I'm quite happy with the stock front end. Just trying to get an idea of cost so that I don't get taken advantage of.

i would probably not go to a dealer but rather a good body shop, the dealership all ready made a profit on you(im not saying thats abad thing) its just that they are in the biz to sell cars ,the body shops speciality is body work..... i will not get in to a peeing match with those that will tell you the dealer make all his $$$s on warranty and back end work. he makes it when he sells cars that is his speciality.

I'd say that a repair on that portion of the bumper will be most difficult to get right.

Try: www.car-part.com to look for salvage parts.

Good luck!
