You've been out of it a while. Your Mustang has a 3 years/36000 mile BTB warranty on it. The 2007 has that plus a 5/60K powertrain warranty.

This part that Bascho mentions (8R3Z-18183-B) is not a part that's far enough along in Ford's system of distribution to be recognized by service departments apparently. The Service Manager at my Ford dealer is asuper-helpful and responsive man who has always provided me with outstanding service, but hesays after a day of investigationthis new part number is faulty and no such thing exists. Bascho has given us hope of getting rid of such an annoying noise, and I hope the mystery surrounding this part clears up in time.

He said that he would continue to look into finding out information about the part and call me back.

The part number in question IS valid per what my service manager said yesterday.
It's just a new number in the parts system at this point.
Evidently in the next week or two that number will be married up with the actual part itself.
Patience my friends!
We are darn lucky to have bascho take mercy on us and risk his job to boot I suspect.
I'm glad waiting is turning out to be the best policy. That alone has saved many of us much time, money and frustration!
COME ON BTB!

He told me to wait until the end of June.

His job isn't in jeopardy. No way to ID him.

Silencer.....you should be ok on the BTB. As someone else mentioned it's 36/36 BTB warranty(36months/36,000miles). Starting in 2006 all Ford cars and trucks have a 60/60 Powertrain warranty (60months/60,000miles).

Gidyup. What is the name of the dealership and the Service manager? I'll give him a call on this part. The thing about service managers is that they are not very informed when it comes to new parts (or parts at all really).

Guys (gals), I appreciate the gratitude. I've been hesitant to say anything about future fixes because the plant screwed me on the leak TSB. I told everyone it would be out in the few months and they still haven't released it. I felt confident this time because it was under my responsibilty here at Ford as I'm the one that created the service part 8R3Z-18183-B.

If any of you guys get any grief from your service departments on this issue.....please PM me the dealership name and service manager name as well as yours. I'll do what I can to help. This offer does not apply to modified suspension cars (sorry)......you took that risk when you modded the car.

Just curious, when I added the OEM cross member brace and did the install myself, did I mod the car and risked denied future warranty work?

As you know, the brace was installed after Ford started adding them standard on the '07 coupe.

Thanks

Defintely not.......in fact I bet the tech doesn't even realize you added it next time you take it in.
