Yea, I haveone along with a DVR to record my antics and
any fender benders that might come my way. I used a
big magnet once and placed the camera under the car
to see if I could find the front end thunking noise.
Boy the view from inches about the roadway
at speed is super fun. And to see your suspension
working around corners is also cool. I have the suction
cup mount for thewindshieldthats popular.
I have video in my last ride and thats what helped
with the claim process. Darn insurance companies.

I have one in my 15 foot Van/Truck. I mounted it to the top of the roof in front of the rollup doorpointing down. It's great for backing it up to docks. It amazes guys when they see me (a woman) back up a big truck without hitting the dock. I'll never tell them that I have a camera mounted back there!
As far as for my Mustang, I don't have one in it.
Costco & Sam's Club had them for a great price.....under $100.00.

I shoved a mini-tripod down the crack at the top of the back seats (in the middle) and mounted a videocam to it for the race track. It worked great for a cockpit-to-track view.

You might consider some sort of shock mount to go with it, rather than a solid mount. Burnouts shake the **** out of my picture! WhenI worked on airplane electronics we had lots of stuff on shock mounts. You may find some surplus or thru supply houses?
