Hose Clamps????

RE: Hose Clamps????
Pictures sure would help but most Ford clamps have slots in them to keep them from rotating when tightening. If it is your intake you will see a piece of molded rubber sticking through the slot. You have to loosen them considerably more than a standard clamp to get them free of the rubber in the slot.

RE: Hose Clamps????
if you're talking about those pinch clamps, yes
they're a pita. there is a special tool you can
get at sears or most autoparts stores.
i have found that a pair of large channel lock pliers
really work well, for most of these pinch clamps and
i even have the special clamp tool

RE: Hose Clamps????
The pinch clamps are mainly on because its easy for a machine to install them on the assembly line. I have a cable tool at work that makes taking them off a million times easier. I usually replace the ones I can with the regular screw type style.

RE: Hose Clamps????
Be thankful yours are functioning. My lower hose clamp was never "activated" and hung loose. (It was locked open for assembly ease and was never actually clamped onto my hose.) I didn't discover that until I dumped all my antifreeze on Hwy 26 and overheated.
