synthetic oil

RE: synthetic oil
Run a quality full synthetic 5W-20. The lower viscosity will help your mileage/power and the high strength 'film' of the synthetic will still protect you from wear.
Just as important (some might argue even more important) is a quality oil filter. There's a long list ofwhat *not* to use buta great filter that a lot of guys run is the Motorcraft FL-820S which costs $3-$4 at WalMart.
You can switch to full synthetic whenever you like. The car does not need to be broken in with dino oil or a blend.

RE: synthetic oil
Speaking of synthetic oil. Do they put gold flakes in the mobile 1 synthetic gear oil? I went into autozone today to buy some gear oil and almost had a heart attack when they ringed it up. $16 per quart!!!!!!! I decided to just get my car wash soap and buy redline gear oil online for $9 per quart. I told them I could get royal purple at carquest for $9 per quart and mobile 1 must be really ****ing proud of their gear oil.
