Yeah my buddy with the torino was saying that car was a fake or something.He said it wasn't even a 429,maybe a 390.
He pointed out there was no #4 stamped in the heads like the 429's had.(Looking at the #4 cylinder) So I'm guessing
Tribute or Fake....You tell me???

By the look of the type of valve covers and the low profile air cleaner, I'd have to say it looks like a big block, although it might just be a Cleveland small block. Yes, those S197 V-6 wheels look right at home on that '66 GT, look much better than the way they look/fit the S197 car. Also like the late model Bullitts on that '70 with the alleged big block .

that cant be a 429, the stripe is all wrong, they didnt have them. they just had lettering, and look at the motor, there looks like tons of room in there, if uve ever seen a 9 in person that **** is STUFFED in there. nice pics! love your hood

I agree, it's definitely not a Boss 429 lurking under there(Boss 429 had huge cylinder heads and prominent valve covers) but the 390/428 engines fit well, if a bit on the wide side, remember, the '67 Mustang was redesigned with the 390 in mind, Carroll Shelby took it one step further by adding the 428(physically the same size as a 390) at the same time to create the GT500. I'm just stating that by the looks of the thin looking air cleaner/flat topped valve covers, it might be a 390(as stated by Eleanor06)or a 428. Although I'm starting to lean more in the Cleveland 351 direction as their valve covers were of the same style as the 390/428 engines (when installed in Mustangs). Still, a pretty cool car, if lettered/striped incorrectly[&o].

i second what rygen said about the wheels. but wow they really do go with that car well. btw elenor06 i love your car. ive never been a huge fan of that hood but you car looks amazing! how does that side exaust work? what brand exaust do u use?

Thanks Dwisformer05...The exhaust system comes with the cervinis side skirt kit
and has Magnaflow straight thru mufflers.It bolts up from the factory H-pipe back.
