ORIGINAL: cnapsys

thanks for the input tj.
i was considering the spyder shaft to go with the gears.
however the tc if i remember right goes for about a grand or so...
I'll have to think about this. I might just do the shaft for now and then max out the visa for a tc. :-)

btw tj, how the heck did you get the torque so high??? is it the kooks LTs that pumped it up so good?
yeah the kooks helped allot with the torque.I had a great torque and rwhp increase before I even was supercharged and after I had them installed.......the only drawback...is you lose boost.....not saying you should not get gears...I just heard that on these cars they get really twitchy with the twin screw superchargers....some people will still swear by them....believe me..I was very close to getting them...but then I felt I would rather save up to get more of my hp and torque to the rear with solid D/S ....and a good TC..yes TC's will run you over 700 for PI multi disk....but I hear that they are worth the investment in the long run, including saving on tranny life..also consider investing in a deep tranny pan to keep that tranny cooler....just some opinions I discovered when looking into the same thing....good luck..TJ

its totally up to you....I personally think there are better ways to spend your money to improve your rwhp, torque etc without opening up the rear and putting in taller gears....if I were to have a personal priority list for next i would go Solid Driveshaft first....(lca's upper and lower..adj panhard bar....if you already have not done this) a deeper tranny pan,,,,then a new muti disk TC.with a 3000 stall...OR...before replacing the TC .I would install a new fuel pump (if not already replaced) then a smaller pulley...thenthe new muti disk TC.with a 3000 stall...then after doing that....then and only then would I consider going to a different gear....but thats just me....I say get that HP and torque safely to the rear....retune your car...then see if you still want the taller gear...you may find that after a DS and new TC...you are done...but then again..thats just me...I would rather not spend that $500++ for gears before I seen how much of this parasitic loss I can take away..TJ
