I do have a concern about driving with the AC on. I have to give it so much more gas to engage the clutch smoothly, and it feels so sluggish with AC on. Anyone else feel the AC is a pain to drive with.
I notice that a lot, it seems that it sucks so much power, I don't even like driving with it on.

When in the city that is all I get in a tank, actually 290 miles, but right about 22 is what it says I get on the freeway with the air on, but with it off I get 26. Just really seems like a lot for a a/c system that is not freezing me out. I guess it is dealership time[:'(].

I was just in Las Vegas for a poker tournament and it hit 106!
It wouldn't matter how cold my A/C blew if I parked it in the sun!!! I'd have to wait in the shade while the car ran... cooling off while idling.
Since i parked in the garage at the Mirage, I found that if I put it on recirculate it got comfortable within about 10 minutes.
I was surprised how high the gas prices were! Had to hunt down a cheap gas station on Main near downtown with crack hoes out front!

Works great in my 06. I would bring your car in and have the a/c checked.

It was 95 and fairly humid here yesterday (Birmingham). Even with the black car, the A/C cools the car off pretty well. The A/C doesn't seem to have a huge impact on power or fuel ecomomy, although I can feel it at low thottle when it cycles. Of course, my last car, a Miata with black top and interior, with a 1.8 liter four, turning off the A/C was like a shot of nitrous.

I live in soutwest Florida which is a sub-tropical climate so it gets very hot and humid. My a/c runs cold if the car has been in the garage(my garage is airconditioned)or in the shade. If it is in the sun ,then I have to put it on max a/c until it cools down..it takes a good 15 minutes to get it cold. Then I switch back to normal a/c and it works pretty good. It definately drains the power and sucks up the petro.[:'(]

I live in SW FL as well, and as i said before my a/c gets pretty damn cold pretty fast. Idk about the gas mileage thing tho, it seems when im trying to get good gas mileage i put up my windows and turn on the a/c. gets me about 23 mpg struttin around town. 5 mpg is a lot for a/c to consume, i would def. get htat checked out.

Mines cold. Do you have a small thermometer you can stick in the vent? This will help decide if it is your local heat, or a mechanical problem. Should be below 45F.
