HEEEEEELP.
TB, CAI, it doesnt matter, he needs a tune before he runs either of those. His car is running lean and that is what is causing his car to go into fail safe. It is probably a combonation of both the CAI and TB. K n N does not "require" a tune, but it still leans out the car a bit. Adding the TB most likely just leaned it out way too much.

I think you are all wrong...he said "K n N filter" and that sure as hell aint doing that much to the car. Your car will start and run pretty good with a CAI without a tune so this just seem to be the cause. I still think the problem lies with the TB maybe. Take the TB off and try to start it. You ford dealer cant change your tune either.

I wouldnt say you do not "need" a tune for a TB. I would say it is not "necessary". Anytime you are increasing air flow to your heads you are leaning out the motor. A tune compensates this and richens up the a/f. His TB, and intake, are moving much more air then his stock airbox and TB were. His motor is running lean, i will bet anything on it. Only a tune is going to balance this out and stop him form going into fail safe.

I dont think that the tuners (Doug, brent or Justin) makes any changes for them though, that is why I stated you dont need a tune.

He doesn't need a tune for either of those parts. There is a problem somewhere, be it an electrical connection , loose clamp, cracked hose, etc. Take the intake and tb off and start over. There is clearly a problem - not a tuning issue. There are way too many ignorant people around here that think the magic little plug-in box cures everything. I wonder what half the kids driving these cars would have done 10 or 20 years ago when there were carburetors and no ****ing Diablosport and SCT.
