brake question...
so i've been toying with the idea of getting new brakes...changing pretty much everything...the rotors, pads, and anything else that would need to be changed and i wanted bigger rotors. i like the look of bigger rotots especially since theres a lot of room. my brakes kinda look like a bottle cap in pam anderson after tommy lee had a go.. i want them to fill out that gap a little more.
i was thinking of slotted rotors but what's the biggest rotor i can get to fit in my 17"s? i'm thinking of getting some paint for the calipers, any specific kind or paint needed?
btw, it's an '05 v6 if that changes things.

Bigger rotors means bigger calipers!!!!!!!!!!!
Bigger rotors means bigger calipers!!!!!!!!!!!
SDSGUY- there is a few options- 1st here is a great read: https://mustangforums.com/m_2547493/...tm.htm#2547493
2nd the easiest is to go with a GT take off kit which is about $100 to $200 depending on where you go. It has bigger rotors but we (GT V6) have the same calipers. The bigger rotors has biggest impact other than that its basically the same system. You can use this with the stock 17" bullit. Other kits I'm not sure
The easiest way to improve braking is to get better pads, change the fluid and put on stainless break lines. Combined with bigger rotor its fool proof.
Othere options are to get a complete kit, SSBC, Baer, ETC....
If you get bigger rotors the most crucial part is the break clips/clams are the most expensive part probably. They cost around $40 each.
Good luck and make sure you read the thread above. (crazy al is the man)

RE: brake question...
Check the distance between your caliper and your wheel, That’s how much bigger your rotor can be, Wheel diameter is not the only thing to look for when thinking rotor diameter. I put some 17 Fooze and 17 Boyds on the front of my car that had 17 Ford on , and neither Fooze or Boyds would clear the caliper. I got 18 Fooze.
