Problem - No throttle response immediately after starting
Hi
I have an '05 GT.
I am having an intermittent problem with starting from cold - I dip the clutch (stick shift) and start as normal, but the engine splutters at circa 600rpm and will not respond to throttle - i.e. it sticks at about 600 rpm regardless of throttle position. After about 15 seconds it clears and the car drives as normal.
This doesn't seem to be related to bad gas as it happens intermittently, it's not a constant thing - so far has always been from cold though.
I know about the drive-by-wire system, and am not sure if I sometimes might use the throttle on starting (which is not recommended in the manual) - but surely the throttle position shouldn't be so sensitive that it could cause a condition like this on a normal start?
Fortunately the car hasn't let me down yet, and it seems to run perfectly when hot and once this problem clears, but it certainly has me worried
Advice appreciated!!

RE: Problem - No throttle response immediately after starting
Im not real sure about the 197s Yet, But when a ruff idle on a SN95 happens the first thing I do is hit the mass air with some Brake clean this makes a big difference in smoth idle. Use brake clean . No carb cleaner.
Brake clean is non flamable and Carb cleaner has some kind of oil stuff in it. Most important is to hit that little round thing.

I would bet money you have a bad 02 sensor.

Hi guys
Thanks for the comments so far
To answer Hammeron - yes the car is completely stock (apart from wheels, but pretty sure that's not my problem!!!!)
P.S. I am based in the UK so my replies may be a day late due to time differences!
Cheers
