Gatkins, that's a good point about not ratcheting the front bolt out too far, I forgot to mention that. I just used the ratchet feature as far as I could. Geesh, I'm sorry you had to lower your transmission, I'll bet that was fun!

Thanks to all the guys with worthwhile tips and help. We put 2 sets on today relatively easy, second car being much quicker. Took about3 hours for both cars including puuting them up on jacks and moving them in and out of the garage. Now what's with all this mother and sister garbage? It started getting old and annoying after a while. Remember you have moms too and maybe sisters and maybe your moms were someones sisters as well.

Installation is easy. As soon as you start doing what the orinal link to your question showed you, you'll see, it's easy. ONE thing I will warn you about......#3 below.....IF you use the ratcheting wrench, DO NOT BACK THE BOLT OUT TOO FAR to be able to get the wrench off, unless you have the reversable wrenches!!!!! you will know EXACTLY what I mean when you start to remove that bolt inside the tranny hump.....I did that, then had to lower the transmission to get the stupid wrench off....
God damn I'm glad you said that. Up until this point I've never admitted that I did the same damn thing!

I've actually done this twice, and niether time was fun. The first time, I just about had to take a John Deere tractor apart to get the wrench out....You would think that I learned from this, but you just get in a bit of a hurry! I love and hate those stupid ratcheting wrenches....one things for sure, if you do back a bolt out too far to remove the wrench, there is NO tightening it back up!!

Is there any difference between the "Hurst Designed" Ford Racing Shifter and the Hurst Competition shifter...besides price?

I think I'm going to buy and install one this week.
