yeah its not the clips. I have tried pretty much everything. Something has got to be wrong with one of the wheels or tires up front. Im sending them back hopefully the place wont give me any issues. I would hate for this to get nasty but after $3000 it could real quick.

I dont think the retainer clips could cause this issue...they are so small and light.... I had a similar issue. Got a rebalance on a Hunter Road Force machine and the problem was fixed.... find a shop @ http://www.gsp9700.com/pub/search/findgsp9700.cfm

not all "professional mechanics" have this set up... the Tire shop I had mount and balance my set 2x and it was still screwy....

I dont want you to think I'm being stupid but did you check the direction of the tires. If the tires are directional and were mounted the wrong way this could be a problem for you. Just one more thing to check.

Good point....the toyos are directional i believe...20s will give you a rougher ride generally but you still shouldnt have a constant vibration or anything.

Actually, the retainer clips are a major issue with wheels 20" and larger. They do not allow the wheel to set plumb against the rotor. The wheels are not true when mounted resulting in an "out of round" situation when the wheels are spinning. I was advised by the wheel manufacturer of my wheels to remove them to avoid this. I didn't and had a severe shake. I removed the clips, and the shake no longer existed. The retaining clips serve no purpose other than to hold the brake rotors on while the car it moves down the assembly line. This has been posted hundreds of times in this forum, and has99.9% of the timebeen resolved with their removal.

Its not the weight of the clips but the new wheels might
not be relieved it that area and the clips are not allowing
the rim mounting surface to properly match up the the
hub - flat and true. Lots of TIR.

Scotte28516 & 157db,

Got it... thanks for the info... I had read about this issue but when I saw the clips I could imagine that they really could cause such trouble. guess next time the wheels are off I'll have to take them off.....
