Wax/polish preferences??

I just came off the BMC and seen your post. When I got my '06, I got the Blackfire new car kit (car wash, polish & protectant) along with microfiber cloths. I use the Porter Cable DA polisher to apply. Afterwards I use either Megs. QD or #34 (final inspection). Gives black the liquid look. Sounds like you got everything you need to maintain the shine! Good luck and happy detailing.

I disagree with the first sentence in this post. ( I'm not busting ***** krahez) But I own an 07 and I have clayed my car at least 3 times since I bought it due to grit setting in on my paint. I use it back and forth to work 4 mile each way . It is kept in a garage and out the weather as much as I can. I cant stand touching my car and feeling grit. To the original poster I prefer clay magic or meguires clay kit, for wax I use zymole only for wax and then a meguires spray for touch-up wiping. I may be a little **** but I like a smooth car. ( To the touch that is.)

With an 06 you shouldn't have to clay it unless the finish is rough. I use the meguire's 3 step process; clean, polish, and protect. I used meguire's first two steps and zymol carnuba as the final protectant. Between washes I use meguire's quick detailer, it helps to remove bugs and water spots when caught out in the rain.

I have bought a lot of polish and wax in the past 10 months since I have purchased my Black 06 GT.
I have been looking and reading about Poorboys since I got my car.
I finally just purchased some a couple of weeks ago.
I am sorry that I did not get Poorboys sooner.
Everything I have used (sealant, polish and waxes) goes on easy and comes off easy!
You can useit in the Heat, direct sun light, and the shine is awesome.
I first ordered from one of his distributors because they had a sale on some other times I needed.
The secondtime I order directly from them, shipping was fast and the packing was very good.
Needless to say I have been very impressed by Poorboys products. With my Black 06 GT as a daily driver and me being a clean car freak there products have saved me time and took a lot of the stress out of owning a black car.

I know this is a little out of the loop here but i have a 06 Satin Silver GT, Black Tinted Windows, Shorty Ant. and Flow's AB! I seem to have a problem with keeping the car not only clean but to keep a nice clear shine on the paint. It is a daily driver and Not Garaged. I wax it at least 1 time a month using microfiber towels ( to apply and remove). I get about 2 days of shine and then it is gone! I understand that the color " Satin " Silver is not supposed to shine like Black Cars, But why do i get a shine for a couple days and then it is gone? What else can i do to hold onto the shine for around a week or so! Also, Please explain this clay bar everyone talks about! Thanks
Ok First thing is Claybar does NOT remove any clearcoat. It merely lifts contaminants out of the finish. Secondly I clayed my car the day i brought it home it had tons of rail dust and other crap in the finish. Brand new cars can benefit from a clay treatment. To say a that a 2006 Car does not need claying is absurd. As for the Blackfire stuff I have never heard of it so i cannot comment but the pricing seemsto be right in line with other online Detail Products. I myself use a few different brands from Poorboys to Adams/Chemical Guys and Some Meg's
Anyone using Adams should take a look here you might be surprised to find things at about half the cost.
Just look for the products with the same name.

Thanks ZZ, but "fast and cheap" isn't quite the look I'm going for.. LOL Sounds like some women I've known in the past though..
Anyone else out there with some BlackFire experience? Come on, I know there were a lot of posts about it before, where'd everyone go??

I have an 06 GT vert - Satin Silver too. Not sure what you mean about the shine. Mine has a shine and I have only waxed it twice with Klasse All-in-One since I got it last September. I had black and red GTs before this one and the shine is "different" I guess but like I said, my Satin Silver seems to shine and reflect very well - I don't have a garage and live in Fla. so my car is exposed to the sun a lot.
Can you explain in more detail? Did it "shine" when you bought it? What wax product are you using now?
The only problem I have is waxing because it is hard to see it even when it dries on the silver.
Any other comments from other Satin Silver owners?
