My best friend lives in an apartment with multi-level garage reserved space parking. When I visit, there is always a brand new GTO parked in the lower level where i park. What pisses me off is the sticker on the side of his hood scoop that says "400 HP"!!!!! I can't stand it. I want 400 HP.
What can I do to get 400HP withouta supercharger? Anything? I know that a breenspeed tune and intake will get me to about 340 but what else can Ido?

He has a sticker that says "400 HP" and you feel emasculated... by a sticker? I don't know which one of you to slap first. He needs that sticker to tell people he isn't driving a Grand Am. Pity him. And get yourself a sticker that makes you feel good while you're at it.

I havent had a gto touch my car yet. I was intimidated as well by the 400 hp numbers and thought they would blow my dooors off. I had a friend buy one because he though it would be faster and when we took them both to the track. I had street tires, cai, pulleys and gears and ran a 13.30 and his best was a 13.94. He was still stock, but had drag radials. I had ran 13.90 on street tires and no mods the week before.

270-280 seems about right. Id say 280 is on the high side for just a cai and tune...

I think your a little low on HP with CAI and good Tune. I bet closer to 290 then 270. Most S197 dyno close to 265 so 5-15 HP increase with with CAI and Tune seems too low
