My best friend lives in an apartment with multi-level garage reserved space parking. When I visit, there is always a brand new GTO parked in the lower level where i park. What pisses me off is the sticker on the side of his hood scoop that says "400 HP"!!!!! I can't stand it. I want 400 HP.

What can I do to get 400HP withouta supercharger? Anything? I know that a breenspeed tune and intake will get me to about 340 but what else can Ido?

Well you could find that same sticker, only make yours bigger, and stick it on your car too. That'll show 'em!

that should get you close to 400hp


maybe at the crank. definetely not at the wheels, probably around 270-280 rwhp

 

Will also cost you about $4000. You would be better off getting some type of f/i or nitrous.

On another note, stop looking at horsepower as something special, it isnt. My 291 hp (off bottle) will litterally RAPE his "400" hp gto. Im sure 90% of other people on here would do the same. Horsepower is just a number, thats it!

 

Why mess around? Just spend the dough and get a supercharger that puts you at 500 hp!!

I think all those mods listed above would still only get you to around 360-370hp. Gears would also make a big difference, especially if you're going from 3.31 to something like 3.73 or 4.11. Remember that althought the GTO is faster/more powerfull than your GT, the GTO also cost alot more than a Mustang GT did.

You're not going to be able to get 400whp without either major engine work, nitrous, or some sort of FI.

Don't forget, the GTO's 400hp number is at the crank as well, so the 340 at the crank is a valid apples to apples comparison.

 

Be happy you drive a Mustang and give the GTO owner some sympathy, he has to drive that ugly beater every day [8D]
