It's difficult decision. I wanted Gray but when I cut up templates and set them on the car it made it 3 tone (clown like) so I decided to match the black roof and I am glad I did.
I would try both colors 1st. I really like the white stripes on the red car. They stand out and with the top down it would look good.
Go to the craft store and get white & black construction paper. Start with 12" wide in both colors and do a small section. You can always narrow them up.

I will look tonight at our local car gathering and snap some pictures. There is a guy with a Saleen red/black top. I think he has black stripes.

I'd say go with white, I don't think they would look bad with the black top at all. Black stripes don't "pop" like white. I went with 10" stripes w/ a 2" gap just like the GT500. I had alot of people tell me I should get black, but when I got the white they all agreed it looked better.

Your are definitely right, white stripes look alot better with the red than black stripes do. I still think the black top will clash too much with the white though. I don't like to see more than two major colors on a car, or it starts looking way too busy. If it were two colors with a small amount of hightlight from a third (like pinstripes) it wouldn't be so bad, but three colors of large quantities is to overbearing. White, black, and red all in large quantities on the same vehicle is a fashion disaster lol.

I agree that black does not POP like white would, some one suggested to lay construction paper on there, that sounds like a great idea.May I can find a shop that can take digital pictures and photo shop the different colors on it.I appreciate all the imput and welcome more and pictures would be great!

hahah light grey does not look close to white at all lol. white or black they both look good. you will definatly turn some heads either way, more so with white because u will stand out. the only thing is that white striped on a red car is very generic. go with a color that u dont see on alot of them.

You can do what I did. I had the stripes stop 1/2" from the end of the hood and round off (SS Camaro style). Do the stripes in white. If you don't goover the windshield header, it'll look fine.
Here is a picture ofmy car in prep.
