Pulled over for fuel pump

Pulled over for fuel pump
I had just driven into Galveston from San Marcos, about 300 miles and stopped at a light next to a police car. When the light turned green I gave it a little gas being mindful that I was next to a police car and the car stalled and lurched. Next thing I know I'm getting pulled over for excessive show of acceleration. Fortunately, the officer believed me about the TSB on the fuel pump and also thought he was pulling over a kid. Found out he used to own a Mustang too so I'm sure that helped. I've got to get that fixed but it doesn't look like I'll have time until August.
I also recently got pulled over in Houma, LA for revving my engine next to the police, which I wasn't doing. I had just left the bar (sober) and was driving around to see what was there. There were 3 police cars parked in the road next to a bar and when I passed, I slowed down then sped back up to the 25MPH speed limit after I got by. The 2nd time I went by them they all chased me down and gave me all sorts of $hit that I was purposely revving my engine by them, which I wasn't. I was informed that if they saw my car again that night I was going to jail.
I'm having all sorts of luck lately.

Cops in Gaviston are a special kind of law enforcment officer. But you got to realise that they deal with 100 out of towners every day. I used to live on east beach and became friends with a few cops. They are there to keep the beach running smoth, Mostly.

Take the car in and get the fuel pump replaced. I did on my 06, but take the TSB with you. My local dealer said they didn't use the TSBs - only a guide, but when I picked up the car they had wrote on the print off I had left in it! It took them only a few hours, our pumps can be changed by taking out the rear seat as opposed to dropping the tank like some other cars (my 7 hour project with my Firebird....). Much easier and quicker that way.

The cop in Galveston was actually pretty cool, especially when I explained that no, I'm not stupid enough to do that next to a cop on purpose.
I've got the TSB printed out, now just to have time to get it done. Right now, mid August is the next time I'll be home on a weekday for more than one day.
