please help with steering wheel shake plz
ORIGINAL: offrdmania
Ive been in the tire industry for almost 15 years, that statement is the biggest load of corporate gobbelty gook ive ever heard. 1. you shouldnt be offering alignments for a shake. 2. just because he has 20's doesnt mean that there will be a shake. 20's and low pros are very easy to balance if you know how to balance. Most guys who balance just dont know how to use their machine and figure all wheels are balanced the same. Those Foose wheels are known for bad castings and not being true, ive sent back many of them for out of round issues.

try roadforcing them first.. then after that i would say maybe check alignment.. and then after that.. deal with the fact that your running a 20inch rim, and you have a low profile tire, and you going to get some vibrations or difference then when it was stock..
ps... i work at discouint tire.. so if you have any ?'s.. PM me

Not saying all discount tires are like that but they have such a high turn-over that they can't keep the experienced people there.
Wheels which are out of true are soooo easy to see when they are on the balancing machine.
I've seen guys actually try to compensate for a damaged rim by loading it with weights ! [:@]

I'm having a similiar problem with the factory 18" bullitts. I noticed a little bit of vibration, but it never really bothered me until I took a 6 hour road trip this weekend. In my case the vibes start becoming noticeable around 55mph and are pretty much unnoticeable by the time you're going 75.
Today I took it into a shop with a road force balancer and it didn't seem to cure the problem. I'm thinking about taking it into the dealer, just hoping they don't point the finger at the springs/d-specs (it was doing it before I installed those anyway and the springs haven't had any effect on the vibration).
