I just talked to a different guy at Hurst and he said the correct ones for our cars are 163-0114. This has the right pitch and thread. The 108 is very close to ours (114) and it will probably and has obviously worked for people. So now that I know the facts, I am even more confused.

The Hurst shifter uses a 3/8-16 thread.

163-0108 is a black 5 speed ball with 3/8-16 thread.

163-0125is a black 5 speed ball with 3/8-16 thread and the Hurst name on it.

163-0114 is a black 5 speed ball with a 12mm x 1.75 thread that will fit
the stock Mustang shifter.

I can't find this one anywhere except for summit, and they want almost 50 bucks after shipping and handling.

That is correct, and the reason I don't have one yet. I will probably wait untill
there is something else I need from them and then add the shift ball to the order.
