Just for the record, ford racing doesn't make any gears, they may not make anything at all for all I know.

Go 3.90 if you use freeways or take trips a few times a year.
4.10 will give you too much acceleration at the cost of top speed.
I cant believe Im even responding to this when the guy should've searched...
Also, Motive is a company. Ford Racing is another company. They both make great gears. Some people say Motives can whine, but many experts ive read from say its all in the install. Ford Racing does not make 3.90, only Motive and another smaller company.
The end.

I'm going to try and bury the speedo with my 4.10's once I find a suitable stretch of road. I'm pretty sure I can still hit 145+, i'll just be in 5th after about 124 or so. 5th pulls very good with 4.10's, no one seems to get that. 5th was a dog with the 3.55's, atleast at 2500rpms it was. Someone in the street/strip forum tried to tell me his friend topped out at 130 with 4.10s in an s197, but i'm pretty sure he had an auto and probably didn't have OD on.

Top end speed.....you can still 130+ so who gives a **** if it takes a few MPH off.....if that is factored in when doing a gear swap then you have problems or you have specific goals and probably dont need to be asking us.

I have the auto and plan on going with 3.73 that is plenty of gear and will still keep your mileage about the same. As for which gear brand to buy there are more out there than just FRRP and Motive. Richmond makes a great gear also.

And I don't think there is any such thing as too much acceleration!
