XM and Navigation Antennas placements
Does anyone have any special places they are putting there antennas? (those without factory sirius). I have both XM and navigation so thats 2 antennas. I had one attached to the decklid, and one taped to the window. But I would like it to look better. And the back deck is not an option due to dark tint. Thanks in advance.

Try the antenna on the back deck. I installed XM Radio in my mom's Toyota Corolla, and put the antenna in the center of the back window, just inside the car; no problems whatsoever with transmission (just used a piece of double sided tape to stick the antenna to the deck, since it was a magnetic antenna and the deck was plastic). Previous to this, I had it in the back of a 1991 Jaguar XJS, basically the same location, and had no problems with it whatsoever.
On my GT, I ran the antenna up around the door frame, snaked it up onto the driver's side just above the windshield. It's an aftermarket Terk antenna (the one that's the size of a quarter), and works great. I get it cutting out at only ONE location in San Diego county, and it's only once every couple of months (must be angle of the earth in relation to the satellite, and solar flares interrupting with signal).
Previous to this, I had the antenna tucked into the corner of the dash of my old 2002 Saturn. That got worse signal, and cut in and out, but I think that was due to positioning, since I had it right next to the A-pillar. Give it a shot; I don't think you'll have much of a problem.

Does the GPS antennahave more strength? I can't even put my hand over the top of the XM antenna and it doesn't work.

I think where it says you have to have metal to attach it to is false. Because on my 04, it was a fiberglass trunk and it worked taped to that. Now on my 06, I have it taped to the rear window and it worked just fine. I have the pioneer XM and it uses the micro antenna.

I'm not sure what freqs XM xmits at, but your hand should not prevent you receiving the signal.... it works fine when its on the side window though?
