Default QUICK question

so i took the muffler off my 06 v6 stang and i was wondering if thier was anything illegal by doing this? now i know about noise violations but luckily my town does not have any laws against it as far as i know. and can i expect any more power or BETTER gas miliage by doing this?

My guess would be that anything aft of the converter will not affect emissions, so only local noise laws may be an issue. As for more power or better mileage, if any, I think itwould be negligable and not worth the price of how silly your car might now sound in the eyes of most of the general public.

I drove for a year with no mufflers on my old Pontiac Grand Prix...never pulled over. After that I'm convicned that short of me running LT headers, no cats, x-pipe, and SLP LM's, I'm not going to get pulled over for sound.

My brother has a 98 Cobra with an O/R x-pipe and Flowmaster 40's and he's never been pulled over either.

Maybe with a pipe extending it on out back
and not just ending just before the axle.
Gutyour OEM V6muffler. This sounds
better than no muffler, yuck IMHOP.
I think everyone who has replaced their
stock V6 muffler with something else
has just had to start her up with no muffler
during the install.
