Just get a civic, throw a wing on there and some flame decals and you're good to go.
Ahhh I see you think i'm a ricer... it's understandable, and yes, I do want a body kit on it but does that really justify calling me a ricer? And if it was the flames out of the back that got you, I don't want that I was just wondering if it was power or something else that did that.

My goal was to have the power to back up the looks. Hence, the CAI and possible supercharger.

I'm guessing the guy that replied with stupid smileys had the same idea?

See guys, it's nothing dangerous like racing at a track, the lad just wants to do some street racing....

Damn i'm getting hammered here....

So what exactly do you guys suggest? Just don't do anything to it? I know the GT is fast, but considering i'll be up against 2 other GTs and a juiced 350z I don't know how well i'll do. And I know a 17 year old racing sounds like a death wish, but i've been racing my friends for a while --mostly on a longabandoned straightaway we know ofand only on the highwayif there aren't many other cars on the road.

Seriously, I want to hear some proper criticism and not just sarcasm and dirty looks.

Give the guy a break...everyone in here has been 17 at one point in your life but some of you are taking the role of internet parenting a little far...you think the low blows are going to stop him (not a shot in hell) . Next question for all of the internet parents...who in here bought your mustang to go the speedlimit all the time on street roads....next question for you internet parents why is there a need to have aftermarket parts on your car when on the streets . Take them off if you never use them on the street....

Your best bet dude for the safety of you and your friend is take it to a track or a closed road...not a highway for racing.

We don't mean to be harsh, but we see a whole lotta "I'm a good driver for a 17 year old" posts around here. The truth that us older guys know, and the younger guys don't accept or understand is that it's not a matter of driving skill, it's a matter of JUDGEMENT. Males of our species just don't HAVE any judgement about women or fast cars until we're about 26. It's not your fault, it's the testosterone and lack of experience.

There's a reason that insurance is unbelievably high for 17 year olds driving 300+ HP cars. I'm sure you're smart enough to figure it out.

Thanks Fizzie, I appreciate it. I liked these forums because it seemed like a helpful place, but this wasn't exactly the welcome I was expecting.

All of your comments are true, and I mentioned in my last post that we do race on an abandoned straightaway and on mostly empty highways.

I work on an ambulance in a big city not the small town i live in and I see alot of young lives get taken due to young adults thinking it won't happen to them if you parent are willing to let you get a mustang they obviously theytrust you. Just don't let the power go to your head you will be temped with the new car by other young guys, old guys, and middle aged men.

Noone begrudges you having a sweet car with HP at 17, sir. But when you post about how you need more than 300 HP for street racing, it makes us think that you don't really need advice on mods, because the car (and maybe you) willbe history before you even save enough for the CAI.
