Default Tuner question

I searched for the answer first, didnt seem to get what i was looking for, so i hope you all can help.

i have ordered the C&L intake and xcal tuner from brenspeed, first off we have only 90 and 94 octane(in england). well i have90 oct in now so i think i will start with the87 that should'nt cause problems right 3 oct higher?what i would like to know or hopefullysomeone hassomeproof that 93 oct tune is better then 87 say in like the 1/4? or seat of the pants effect.should i run the 93 oct cause we have 94 here not sure what to use yet. from what i have found so far is 93 gets better gas mileage but i would rather have the performance.i could call brent and have him up the octane on the tune. either way does anyone feel that the higher or lower oct tunes runs the car better then the other? thanks for your time guys!

I would run 91 tune with 90 and 93 tune with 94. Computer can adjust itself when the difference is minimal. I would not under rate as running 91 octane with 93 tune.

93 will produce more gains, thats the bottom line, a dyno might not really indicate, nor might the seat of the pants....5 HP isnt hugely noticable but it is well worth it...I would get a 93 tune and run the 94 or see if brent can get you a 94 tune.

Default RE: Tuner question

Doesnt England (as in Great Britain) specify octane by RON like the USA did in the 1960's? If so you need to understand USA pump octane ratings are RON+MON/2. RON is roughly 10 points higher than MON. In otherwords European 98 Octane RON is roughly the same as USA 93 Octane.

Find out if the octane rating there is RON (Research Octane Number) or MON (Motor Octane Number).
