okay my story gets more amusing. I visited my dealer yesterday to finally have the 'B' version installed. I had a long talk with him about my experience with this radio (thanks to the forum!) and told him that before I left the parking lot I would run the self test on the radio to 1. ensure it was truly a 'B' version and 2. that it passed the self test. I explained to him the last radio put in failed the test because they didn't program it (as the TSB) states.

He stated on the work sheet to have the technician ensure the self test passed and that it was re-programmed properly.

Took about 45 minutes to get the 2nd radio out and the 3rd radio in. Handed me the keys and off to the parking lot I went. Got in the car, ran the self test and found that indeed it was a 'B' version Hooray! - the self test continued and FAILED. The all to familiar B2477 error.

I walked back into the service department and my technician saw me coming. He didn't even know how to run the self test. This after I had already explained it to him. When I told him there was a TSB out on the radio he was dumbfounded. He went back and looked and lo and behold found the TSB. Because it was getting late and they had never done this process yet they asked if they could get me a car and keep mine today. So it still sits at the dealer with my hope that when I get off work I'll find it working as it finally should.

Here's keeping my fingers crossed......

Yeah it took 3 hours to have mine installed......go figure.....I guess they figured out there was more to this than just swapping radios out.

my shaker 1000 works perfectly fine with burnt cd's since that is all i use..i refuse to pay for music...if you are burning cd's trying turning the write speed down to 6x and it will take longer but get a deeper burn and the cd will last a longer time..

Well, I've had the radio replaced and reprogrammed on Friday. They had the car pretty much all day. Ran it all weekend and have not experienced any problems. Boy I hope thats it with this thing.
