Tire Pressure Monitor Fault??

Tire Pressure Monitor Fault??
On the way home from buying my new mustang, the highway was "rotomilled" out. Coming out of that section I got back onto "normal" pavement, and when I hit the lip (doing about 60 mph) the tire pressure light came on in the tach window and then on the info display. Now "tire pressure monitor fault" comes on everytime at startup. Haven't had a chance to take it in to dealer, but my question is, do hard bumps set off the tpms, and if so is my problem simply having the dealer reset the computer? Thanks for any input!!

RE: Tire Pressure Monitor Fault??
I changed my rear tires/wheels out to go to the track sunday and it started coming on. Today I put the original wheels/tires on and its still doing it but im hoping that my tuner will turn it off.

It is normal for it to do that. It will take a little while for it to go off. Had it happen to me with my battery taken off for an extended period of time and it showed up everytime i turned the car on for about a day, then went away.

I had that happen after the dealer replaced my wheel and sensor. I went 50 miles before it happened and the dealer went through a reset sequence and it has been fine.

The TPMS is one of the dumbest things they've ever forced manufacturers to install! I mean any driver should be able to tell if a tire is low not just by walking around his car each morning, as the manual suggests, but by steering wheel input!
And still side air bags are not standard... whatever, Ford!
