Default 4.6 4 valve?

I never heard anybody do this or post about this so here it is. Would 03 mach 1 heads (or even 01 bullitt, i beleive it was 4 valve also) work on 05+ stangs? I figured they both are 4.6 and if oil and coolant guides are the same (don't know if they are) why not? Has anybody done this.

Don't let it get to you. Some people just don't understand that all of us don't know what they know. I thought you had a good question.

I doubt this would work since there are so few upgraded cylinder heads to choose from for s197s...we'd have a lot more choices if there was a union between what would work for both s197 and new edge, you know? But since there's no overlap (that I have read of or seen, anyway) I'd have to say no, just pick a head+cam combo that's designed for our cars.

If the heads would match up, (I don't know), you would lose VVT, and the gains would be small. The 3 valve head is top shelf gear.

And you sir qualify for "Head Dick". What an arrogant jerk! Not everyone is a gear head! Remember this next time you are made fun of for showing ignorance on a subject. Ignorance is not a crime...stupidity should be!

NOT YOU Olvanish!

Isn't this the reason Ford designed the "modular" engine, so it can make inexpensive 2 valve per cylinder head engines and more expensive 4 valve per cylinder engines withe the same block? I don't know if they'd be a direct swap but a good question nonetheless.
