Spec Clutch Tapping at idle

Spec Clutch Tapping at idle
Long story short I had my clutch upgraded to a Spec 2 and the Spec aluminum flywheel put in because my throwout bearing (slave cylinder) came apart in the trans. I have driven it with the new equipment for acouple hundred miles. It drives and shifts fine.
The other day I noticed that it was tapping at idle and when you press the clutch it goes away.
Took it to my garage that itstalled it he thought that something might be wrong with the pressure plate because he thought that another throwout bearing going bad would be weird.
I called spec they said that if it wasanything it was the throwout bearing.
Then I called American Muscle where I got the Clutch, Pressure plate and Flywheel (they are good by the way).
They told me that it might tap like that but then it should calm down, break in period.
Has anyone had this problem? Or know anything about it?

RE: Spec Clutch Tapping at idle
crappy replacement throwout bearings are very common in 99-04 stangs. Haven't heard of that being an issue as of yet with 05+ of course not many have really upgraded or replaced them yet. Sucks to hear you folks may run into the same situation in a few years. Very few in the 99-04 get away with replacing the OEM bearing that came with the car for either another OEM one or aftermarket and get away with it without suffering the squeak of death afterwards.
You can try another bearing but I woudl not be surprised if the noise came back in a few months. Ford just can't get the design right and aftermarket usualy skimps on that part opting to copy the OEM bearing specs or buys it third party for their kits which just copy the OEM specs too.

It is definitly louder with the AC on, I am assumong because there is more load on the engine.
My mechanic looked it the inspection hole he said that it looked alitlle wabbilly?.
His friend who has a GT500 said that the Spec are know for some noise at idle?
It shifts great no problems even at higher rpms.
Does anyone have any first hand experiance with this?
Its more of a loud chatter after hearing it agian.

You might check the trans, the input shaft bearing can make a noise like that under the conditions you are describing. Best to put it up on a rack while it is runningand stethescope the bell housing and transmission case. Whatever is the loudest is where it is coming from.
