stoped by ford today to ask them about the rearend clutch paks, and asked how much more it would cost me for them to slap in some 3.73 while they were in there. first off they said that they only make 3.55 for an 06 gt auto. and it would cost $700 for parts and an extra hour of labor, total cost for me $1100.ford racing emailed me and they have 3.73 for $256. can you put 3.73 in them? thanks.

 

You can put 373's no problem you will need a tuner to adjust the mph for tthe gear.Labor at a auto shop is around $300.00 to install.

 

going from 3.55 to 3.73 is pointless.....do a search for the 2500 plus gear threads that cover the topic

 

go 4.10 or go home

 

autos come with 3.31. going to s.c. sometime too.

 

DO NOT LET THE DEALER TOUCH THE REAR END!!!! find a reputable local tranny shop to do it

id seriously look at 4.10s or 4.30s to, with the gearing of the trannys, 4.10s will be nice on the autos and 4.30s will be sweet of 5 speeds and will allow you to actually use the bitch .62 5th gear on them, you will loose around 2-3 mpg depending on your foot

dont get motives. they work well for some, but arent worth the hassle. it takes a real knowledgable installer to get motives right (may be why ^^ said not to use dealer). they are designed differently than frpp and richmond.
