Default Crash test performed by myself

I thought I'd post about this to let you guys know that you gotta think twice before you run something over.
About a week ago I tinted my headlights and since I couldn't really see anything with them on the same day I ordered the HID kit for my car which I was going to get anyway. Surprisingly, I had it at my door 18 hours after placing an order. Now when I placed the order I clearly told the guy to send me the kit for H13 (I did whine about this on this forum already) and idiot sent me the 9003/H4. I contacted him, but of course for me to get the right connector I had to wait for it to get mailed to me. It didn't make it here till after today afternoon. The sad part is that today in the morning I was driving to work at 5:30am (it's still dark at that time) on 170 freeway going north. I was driving with both, my foglights and my headlights on. Doing about 110mph about 1/2 mile before Sherman Wayexit I see a piece of something on the road which I thought was a large plastic bag or something. At the time I saw it, it was only 4-5 cars away from me. Not being sure whether it's plastic or not I thought of switching lane, but I knew I had a car to the left. I didn't have enough time to look to my right so I decided to take the hit. A plastic bag turned out to be a piece of plastic about 2 feet long and not sure how wide, bended in the middle and now I think it was a fenderwell cover. I thought I'd let it go in between the wheels hoping it wasn't high enough to get me. It wasn't! That thing got me and when I looked in the rearview mirror I saw 3 or 4 cracks flying in different directinons. The hit didn't seem that serious. I thought to myself "*****$!#%^!@, first scratch on a 1 year old car". I wish. When I pulled over my front bumper cover was cracked, both of the plastic pieces that go to where lower grille is supposed to be were missing, bottom plastic deflector is DESTROYED with 2 small pieces that were still on the car held by 2 screws where the bottom of the radiator is, A/C condenser had a huge hold on it, radiator was leaking coolant and to the best of my knowledge that's about it for now. 1000 just for parts at the dealership, plus whatever else got f'd, plus the paintjob. How many hits like this one I took on my 04 Accord, God knows, never had my bumper cracked.
P.S. God bless full coverage insurance and 500 deductible.

ummm maybe driving 110MPH had something to do with it?>?

if you were going at a regular speed of 70 or 80MPH maybe you could have avoided the accident

You're right, sports cars are made to be driven at 65mph tops, I completely forget about that sometimes

Yea, I'll prolly get flamed for this...but okay, they're perfectly capable of much higher speeds....but that doesn't give you liscense to drive like an irresponsibly. Erdrickk is right - you could have most likely avoided it if you were going the speed limit. And yeah, don't let the insurance company know your headlights are tinted...

You have no idea how much more limited your vision is at 110 compared to 70 do you? Even if your headlights weren't tinted you'd still have hit it.

Your insurance company will get back that $1k ten fold after they up your premiums.

In the future don't due 110 in the dark.
