Went to the dealer ship today to get a dash vent replaced under warranty. As they were working on it, i strolled thru the showroom! I made a bee-line to the Black with silver racing stripe Shelby GT and glanced at the sticker and MSRP 30,995..... HOLY CRAP, where do i sign! I actually started to break a sweat! As i started to look the car over a little more, i noticed a little yellow sticker in the back window with very very small print! Gas guzzler dealer installed, $1000.00, Dealer add-ons, 13,000!Total selling price, 44,995! Just under that it stated, No Trade ins with purchase of this car! Wow! After tax and tags and intrest, got to be up around $650 - $750 per month depending on cash down! I wiped my tears and as i was going back to service, a sales rep chased me down and asked if i was interested..... i said sure if you take back my mustang gt i bought from you last year and still offer me 0 finance with no money down. I said it with the most serious face i could hold. He said to me. uhhhhhhh i cant do that.......so i said...... uhhhhhhh bye! Got my key from service and looked out in the service lot and found my babyalmost winking at me as if to say.......why you need her????? when you got me! I jumped inwith a smile on my face as if it were my first time in my stang! Let the MODDING BEGIN! Just thought i would share!

Shelby GT's are sweet looking, but for 30 more horsepower and stripes and the emblems, nope.

 

I'd be interested to see the mods list that cost 13k, and what is actually just stealership markup. You kept a straight face I'm impressed I may have laughed at them loudly. Might try going back in a few days if it's still there see if they are willing to deal. I am hearing and seeing more and more Shelbies stacking up at dealers especially the Shelby GT

 

I can't believe what some of the dealers are still trying to get for them; it is ridiculous. I purchased mine for $700 over dealer invoice.

 

Isn't that what Shelby's are going for? The ones I've seen have the standard factory window sticker, with a GT cost of around 30-35 depending on options. Then in the front window, they have an official Shelby sticker which adds the $1000 gas guzzler tax plus the Shelby additions, which bring the car to around 44-45,000. This is different from the sticker for the ADM which I have seen many times on other cars, specifically convertibles in June, July, and August.

 

I am sorry, but for maybe 30 HP and a badge, and 13000 more I would rather Mod the hell out of my car!

No, I was replying to Jackies Stang and was just curious as to the sticker price on a Shelby. I was under the impression sticker was 44-45,000 because that's what I've seen, but obviously I might be wrong.
