XCAL 2 doesn't work!!
I got an Excal2 and a JLT intake from a forum member in perfect condition and unlocked. I installed the intake and plugged in the programmer and it says wrong vehicle. It's a brenspeed so what do I do now? Can I still drive the car? How do I get it reprogrammed? Thanks.
you need to call a tuner(brenspeed, ETC) and have them send you a tune coded to your ECU number. U can find your code on the passenger site of the engine bay tords the front . look for a silver box close to wher the headlight stops. sorry i dont have a picture.
Thanks. I called brenspeed and it turns out the tuner was for a 2007. Thanks Viridian who sold it to me....Anyway I received a 93 octane tune for $ and uploaded it successfully and loaded it into the car. It took a few times but I did it and now the wrench symbol is on and I'm screwed! Tried a few things and no good. Any suggestions at this point?
Not that this helps you any but this is why i would never buy a used tuner. I cannot even count how many times I have seen this happen to people.
It simply is not worth the headaches that can be created. Does the car run? Have you scanned the ECM to see what codes are stored?
That could help determine the issue

So when you spoke to Brent, did he ask you for your ECU number, as noted above? Also, you said it took a few times to load it....what exactly prevented you from being able to load it first try???

ok, i have to ask. is it possible you
have ANY lower grade octane fuel in
the system?
i'm not sure, but maybe the wrench symbol
is for a knock detection (pinging)
you would not want to run the 93 tune unless you
have 100% 93 octane in your fuel system
