Need Some Help-EDITED WITH NEW SIZES AND TIRES
I posted this in the Tire section but it seems rather slower than the other sections of these forums and I need an answer fairly quick so that my tires can get here as quickly as they can.
I placed an order at the tire rack last week for Sumitomo HTR Z II 275/40/18 (for the rear) and 255/45/18 (for the front) tires. A guy from the tire rack called me with an issue about the tires. He said that with the fronts, they would be about an inch higher than the rears. Is this correct? Is there a drastic issue about that appearance wise? Does anyone have the same set up with pics? Anyone know what I should do?Any help would be greatly appreciated because I want to get this issue cleared up ASAP. Thanks.
My car is a 2006 Ford Mustang V6 Coupe and has 18X10 bullitts in the back and 18X9 bullitts in the front.
EDIT: Would it be better to run 245/40/18's in the front than 255/45/18? The middle number means the height of the tire right? What would everyone recommend to me here? And I don't want tires that make my car look like a rice burner that has no rubber at all and is all rim. Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

RE: Need Some Help
Alot of rim and tire set ups do this. On our SEMA car we're running a 30 series in front and a 25 in the rear. I think the main reason for the added rubber up front is for the extra cushion on the rim. Since the wieght of the fron is more due to the motor. But a 40 series tire is not that bad. I'm running 35's all around. Tires aren't my specialty area so hopefully someone has better info.

I (imo) wouldn't go with tires that are 1" taller in the front than the rears but yes I believe 245x40x18 would match the height of the rears but double check that as some tire companys vary a little. The other way if you found tiresif possible 275x45x18 rears 275x40x18 for the fronts but double check this out height wise.

Does anyone have pics of an 05+ mustang with 40's all around? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I cannot go any higher in the back because the tires I'm looking at do not go above 40. But as long as the car is more or less level sitting than a higher front stance, I'll be happy.

RE: Need Some Help
I dont want to go 275's all around. I want wider tires in the back.
How would this work out: 275/40/18 in the back, 245/40/18 in the front? I don't want to have the ricer look with the tires, so is 40 enough all the way around? And would a 245 fit on a 18X9 rim (I'm sure it will but it's nice to double check)? Thanks everyone so far.
