Default Wheel/Tire Backspacing

Hello, I'd like toswitch my 2007 GT Wheels (Part number M-1007-U1885) with these wheels:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-2006-2007-Mustang-GT-18-x-8-5-Black-Bullitt-Wheels_W0QQitemZ260048060140QQcmdZViewItem (Part Number M-1007-S1885B).

The problem is thatthe backspacing is slightly different (6.82vs 6.295). I'm embarrassed to say that I have no ideawhat backspacing is but I don't want to have to buy new tires. Will this difference cause me any problems? I really appreciate the help and I apologize if this is a stupid question.

They will fit fine with no issues on any 05+ V6 or GT, but wow, they sure are ugly. No offense, but I'd look at the aftermarket companies that make them a bit wider. Or you could buy my old 18" rims

Thanks for the info. BTW, aren't the rims you're selling the same as the ones I'm getting rid of?

Good to know thanks. I really wasn't actually planning on buying from them, I just wantedto use theirdescription. I basically want 18 inch black bullitt wheels that I won't have to get new tires for since I already have the stock 18 inch wheels.

18 by what? I know my 17" stock wheels are 17x8 and there are no after market "17x8" wheels out there for our stangs (that I can find), so I'm going 18x9. You may still have to change tires if the width is greater. Check out http://www.americanmuscle.com/ they have a section which explains terms etc. about wheels and tires. Their banner is also at the top of this site.

take a look at OEM wheels on ebay. I've bought a couple of sets of wheels from them, and they're golden.

Yeah, the width appears to be the same for both (18x8.5) so I should be ok there. Thanks for the advice.

What bad things did you hear?...they have great feedback and many thousands of feedback and they actually are a business in VA where you get all kinds of good stuff for your stang. Reason why I am asking is I have bought chrome valve covers from them and though they sent the wrong ones (sent 99-04 cobra ones cost 100 dollars more) they rectified the situation over the phone and are sending out the new ones. I should recieve them Friday or Monday and I am pleased with the service so far. Just an FYI PM me what you heard....sorry for hijacking thread J
