Default brake fluid

mondayi'm having my rotors replaced, ford's takin care of it for me. i have 18k miles and there are hot spots like you would not believe on my front rotors, its f'd up. i'm also planning, after they do that for me, to chage my fluid. someone told me ford uses dot 3 and to go up to 4 or 5. this guy said that the better fluid will practically eliminate the fade because it won't boil. after doing a bit of reading, it appears some dot 5's aren't meant for abs, and others didnt mention anything about the system of use. anyone have any good input on this? thanks!!!!!!!!!

I have been told not to mix the fluids, so you are still going to have some of the dot 3 in there still so you should replace it with the same, dont know for sure....as for getting the old **** out, use a suction pump is what i was told

Ok listen break fluids is a rather simple thing if you know how to bleed your brakes then change it for a non-synthethic break fluid. I recommend castrol GT Lima, it is really good. Non-synthethics have a higher boiling point and dont loose their effectiveness as much as a synthethic when it has been brought to a boil atleast once. The main downside as with all non-synthethics it gets dirtier faster. So if you plan on breaking hard or just need a better fluid go with a non-syn but be advice you will have to change it more often as it gets polluted faster.
