Default Anyone know our oil filter connector size?

Thinking about getting an oil cooler... Would rather save money and get a universal kind. Need to know what size to buy for the spin-on adapter part that goes onto where the oil filter normally connects.

I'm pretty sure it's metric. If I remember correctly, when I worked at Autozone, there was a changeover year (I think it was '96) when you looked up an oil filter, it asked if it was standard or metric threads. Standard gave a classic FL-1A motorcraft filter, and metric gave the FL-820S. I think it was just a retarded question, since as far as I know the 5.0's had the FL-1A and the 4.6's all had the FL-820S, it would have made more sense to ask the motor size (which is what I started doing onceI figured that out). Sometimes they just add to the fact that some employees don't know jack.

Concur. Did 3 years with an auto parts chain. Fram, Purolator, and Wix all had breakdowns of diameters, capacities, and threadsize for every filter.
