I decided that modding my current engine was going to be a better deal in the end after what some ppl posted... and now everyone is saying replace it lol O.o I am confused.

send back that pypes x pipe if you are getting long tube headers.

You can buy a GT500 engine from top to bottom with the supercharger for $15,000. Thats a 5.4 fully forged internal motor and it would take about $900 to get it easy at 600 hp to the wheels. Just something to think about if you have the cash.

+1 on the 5.4 blown Shelby mill.
If I had 15 grands to put in an engine, that would be my pick.

im suprised noone said anything, but with the amount of power youll be putting down 4.10s well be wayto much. stick with the stock for a while and see how they feel. just my opinion tho

Ok I got deployed... AGAIN and am now working on those mods that everyone recommended plus about 30 hours of reading forum post after forum post.... here are some things I decided on...

Engine work first lets see...
-Pypes off-road X-Pipe (Ordered)
-Axelback Borla Stingers (Already installed)
-Mustang Comp Cams Stage 3
-C&L CAI with a SCT X-CAL 2 Tuner (Ordered)
-Whipple or KB Supercharger (10-24 PSI KIT cant decide which company to go with yet advice is welcome heh)
-Pistons and Rods after I bore and stroke my engine (this, the supercharger, and the cams will happen together)
if your going to get a blower or turbocharger, then why did you get a CAI & Tune? the turbo or blower intakes will be entirely different than the CAI and the tune will have to be redone.

if your going to be throwing out 10 psi, youMIGHT want to order some forged internals, definatly need to do the internals if you plan on running 24 PSI.

to get a few extra HP, you could port and polish the heads...

as for weight (if your really concerned about it), ive seen rear seat deletes. take out the AC, do the CF driveshaft. bunch of other things can be done as well.

gears- i want to reccomend 3.73's, but you could probably get away with 4.10's without spinning too much. what about 3.90's? my friend wants to put a ford 9" in his car (85' monte carlo) to keep up with the power hes laying down, if you had the money, you could do that as well.

get some wider rear wheels and wrap them with some drag radials.

hmm... trying to think of what else could be done... while i think, good luck with your build and thanks for fighting for all of us in iraq!

SC is at least 6 months down the road maybe longer this is a year worth of work I am talking about the SC/CAMS/forged internals is all last the CAI and Tuner are already comming
because he's got money burnin a hole in his pocket and doesnt want to be stock for 6+ months when he can afford the intake & tune

looks like you got a good start now... thanks for serving our country

Forget the CAI and tune, a supercharger will come with both. Forget the cams, no one that I know of recommends stage 3 cams with a supercharger. Definately get forged internals, in fact a stroker kit is usally only about 100 bucks more than stock stroke internals. That would give you 300 cubic inches. Get the heads ported, good for at least 50 hp on a supercharged motor. You don't even need headers to get 500 hp. The stock manifolds work ok to 600 hp. As for gears, 3.50s or 3.73s work well with superchargers. How far do you wanna go?
