Hey guys! Got a question about taking my cats off. I have a Bassani x-pipe with the inserts to put in inplace of the cats. Do I need a new tune orcan I just use my programmer to turn off the rear O2 sensors. Do I evenneed to turn off the rearO2 sensors?I have a SCT-II programmer from Tunable induction. Thanks in advance for any replies.

You should turn them off, you will get a CEL otherwise probably.

SCT Xcal2 doesnt allow for this, only the diablo does....

 

make yourself some mil eliminators,,,,or buy some

i wouldnt worry, the CEL means nothing as the sensors arent needed unless you need to pass inspection. The tune will take car of it

 

OK...not to cound like a tree hugger but why take off the cats? Isn't there lil to no gain on a bone stock to mildy modified Stang? Changing to full synthetics will yield more HP to the ground then removing the cats. I remember a thread the hp gain in removing cats was up to 2 HP.Switching to synthetic can increase up to 8hp.

O/R X can get you about 10HP ... but some people just like the sound w/o the cats.

 

I did it because I'm a conformist and I wanted to be like everybody else.

Actually, i did it more for the agressive sound and to shave some weight.
