"Gear swaps are the same as with previous 8.8-inch rearends. Other than some minor updates, it's the same familiar 8.8 in V-8 Mustangs since 1986"

I may lack some knowledge and this is why im asking, but why an 8.8 out of a 5.0 and not just the 8.8 that comes with it?

I think he is saying he has an 8.8 with 4.10 gears already, from a wrecked 5.0, as opposed to his s197's 8.8 that does not have 4.10 gears. So he would swap the whole axle assembly.

It's because the car he actually drives came with a 7.5 rear end.

Me too, on a cold start up, like a tapping noise, almost like a diesel, then in a couple of minutes it goes away. BTW Stock MCraft 5W20 oil.

I changed to Amsoil 5w30 after several changes of castrol blend 5w20 and my engine has become noticably quieter/smoother. You should warm up before any upper rpm abuse though. Mine never goes above 3.5k until she's warmed up fully. Except for that night when I left the new Transformers movie. I was so pumped after watching that flick, I hit the interstate at about90 (pretending I was the black saleen)a minute after cranking up. My girlfriend screamed and yelled and really enjoyed it (she compares my car to a roller coaster) but I regretted it later. That was the only time she's been over 3.5k before warmup.
