Hurst shifter, ugly ...

I installed the hurst short throw shifter, the boot is tight to the bottom, the steel shifter itself is about 4 inches long then capped with an ugly white ball on the top, anyone have any suggestions or know of any mods to make it look stock, maybe put the stock shift **** back on?

You knew what it looked like before you bought it right?[&:] The stock **** is the wrong thread so about all you can do is buy some other aftermarket one. About the boot the **** is to high for it to fit like stock anyhow.

From reading other posts, the Hurst shifter seems to improve the performance of your Stang and has had real good comments from other posts on this forum, I currently have a Saleen short throw block in mine but plan to upgrade in the future, try an aftermarket shifter **** to go with your awesome Hurst shifter. I installed the hurst a few days ago and was surprised at how ugly the white ball was.... I thought it would look cool.
Im willing to buy a black one, maybe even a angled stick, but after a few days ive started to like the white ball... and people who look into my car can't help but notice the hurst shifter standing out... i might keep it.
and hey, i save $30+ that way

I love mine and people notice - ina good way! It adds just the right amount of "old school" to our S197 style. The look will grow on you.

Hurst makes a black stick which replaces the chrome one and takes the stock shift ****. I'm having a real hard time finding it though. At first I thought the white ball looked cool, but now it looks out of place with the rest of the interior. I might try the black ball if I don't find that replacement stick.
