Wow, that really sucks. I would be livid to say the least.

You may want to prepare a list of what you want before you go into the dealership (your goals). Then demand that they accomodate you with respect to everything on that list. If they cannot accomodate you, then demand an explanation for every item (expectation)they cannot meet. If the person you talk to cannot make the decision and/or says no, then talk to his/her manager, and so on. Don't take no for an answer. A "No" is equivalent to that person saying they can't help you, so you need to talk to the next person higher than them that can help you.

My gf is an attorney, and I've learned quite a bit about how to get what I want by being persistent and adamant that I get what I want when entitled (such as in a situation like yours). If you go in there with a game plan (list of things you want, don't take no for an answer, and know to talk to the higher person up if the lower perspm says no to your rquest), then you will get a lot more accomplished than otherwise. A last resort would be small claims court if the dealer does not fix everything you feel should be fixed.

Good luck; I hope you get everything you want as a result of their gross negligence.

Damn...talk about bad luck. I know it really really sucks, but maybe you will come out of the deal with something positive.....can't think of what it would be right at this very moment, but............. So sorry!!

In most cases a well written letter by a good attourney will solve most problems without ever seeing the inside of a court house. However, that is always the last resort as nkx1 mentioned try to talk to the person that can make decisions. Go in there with a game plan. Try to negotiate most dealerships don't want any trouble nor bad press and will usualy respond if you use the correct verbage and don't back down. However, the important thing is to keep your cool. Don't loose your temper, if it's not going the way you think it should just tell them you need to consider your options before allowing them to proceed and excuse yourself. They don't like not knowing what your thinking and sometomes will respond with another offer before you have time to talk to a lawyer.

I once had a chevy that blew the motor. The dealership claimed that the reason it blew was because I did not use a certain brand of motor oil. They claimed the Chevy rep was going to be by to look at it and would not approve the warranty work. I looked throught the manual and noted no specific brand of oil. I told them that was fine to have the Chevy rep there and that I would bring my lawyer and they could discuss breach of contract as there was no such "brand" requirement in the manual and they were refusing to meet their contractual obligation for warranty work. They called me back within the hour and told me they would have the new engine installed within a week.

I bluffed (I hadn't talked to a lawyer), I've since learned if you feel it necessary seek the advice of a lawyer. Never bluff if you get called you feel pretty stupid and usualy you lose any leverage you had short of employing a lawyer.
