Hey guys...

This is probably real simple but... Does anyone know how to clean the air filter for the C&L Racer Intake system? No mechanic I've been to seems to have any idea... oddly enough.

 

K&N oil kit

 

I would buy a K&N recharge kit and use the instructions contained within. Kit costs around 11 bucks sold at most auto stores including Checkers and Auto Zone. I personally start with getting the heavy debris out by using a wet vac. Contrary to instructions, if you have access to an air compressor take the filter outside and blow the debris from the inside out. Important do not blow air from the outside of the filter because you will imbed debris into the filter. After that you can use the cleaner inside the kit, I do blow the filter dry with air again from the inside out. After cleaning the filtermake sure you let the filter dry. Do not drive with a wet filter. It will help to be able to leave the car parked at least overnight from finish of cleaning. Prior to installing the filter the kit contains an oil charge that is lightly sprayed on the outside of the filter. These should get your Stang breathing right..
