Default Resale Value?

Anyone have any insight into the resale value of these ( 2005, M/T, Mustang GT Convertible premium) Cars?
Was looking to trade it in for a new one so I could get the heated seats, as well as the other new features such as the HID headlights. My car has about 7k miles and all the dealer would give towards a new purchase would be about 13k. So I am going the private sale route and I do not seem to be getting offers over 17k. The car is perfect. I see the ebay auctions turning into offers for 2k - 5k on low mileage cars.
Do you think the market is flooded, oversupply? It just sucks to see what appears to be almost 50% depreciation over 2 years.

I think the market is flooded...there are just so many options for someone looking to get into an s197...05, 06, 07, 08 and used and new.
Just to many of them out on road and for sale.

i just traded in my 2006 v6 auto for a 07 gt and got 14,500 trade in value

The market is what it is. Supply and demand sets prices.

The numbers you're getting should give you all the insight you need to appreciate your local market andconvince you to keep what you have.

i'd be damned if i sold mine for 17K..........just keep trying. or just hold onto it, not that big of a change in the 2008's.......

We bought the GT for the long haul. It is basically the same with any new car you buy. Some hold their value more than others. My 2 year old Jeep CRD has gone down hill so much, that I will have to keep it another 2 years before I can get rid of it. Dropped from 24,500 to 17,000 in that time.

Yeah you should just keep the car until a new body style comes out... They are trying to steal your car at that amount!! Don't give it away, I think you would be able to get at least $20k for it. Good luck and let us know what happens.[sm=signs003.gif]
