RE: Fuel filter replace..result PICS !!!
I really want to know how to chance the Gas filter .. .I have never changed the gas filter.. it's been 47,000. Please tell more .. were is it located and how can I chance it?
Under the drivers seat (underside of the car..) You'll see a black plastic cover about 2 1/2 ' long.Take out 4 10mm bolts
and 3 push pins to drop it.Then you can see the filter, the lines are the snap on kind.Push the green tab in and pull off.
***First pull the #21 fuse in the fuse block underneath the hood, and remove the Neg. cable(I used this info from the fuel filter thread earlier)
You will have some fuel leakage so have some rags handed!

Damn! I just changed mine at 13k and the fuel that came out was crystal clear.
25,000 miles is a lot of Gas, it's pretty good going to get that from the filter, I wouldn't be at all upset about the gas quality I was using were it me.

Hey stick with the BP gas from now on IMHO. Friend got bad gas from Shell and lost 3 injectors and the fuel lines and filter needed to be chenged as well. Cost big money and warranty did not cover it (long story). Just an FYI.....I will never buy shell....but others swear by it!

I don't know? From all these gas/fuel threads shell has been held high by others.I'll stay running shell
for another 10,000 and do a early change on the filter and see if I get the same results.

speaking of gas, went to the local shell last night to fill up and guess what - they put new pumps in and eliminated the 91 octane and only sell 87 and 89; this is not good as i have a 91 tune in my car; hope this is not going to happen to a lot of their stations; told them that was the last they will ever see of me; dont they realize that there are a lot of cars that require at 91 octane (by the way that is the higest you can get in nebraska). went to BP and they still have the 92 octane (only brand in the state that has 92); if it becomes a pain i can retune to 89 octane as i dont race - but do like the power the 91 gives.
