I don't know? From all these gas/fuel threads shell has been held high by others.I'll stay running shell
for another 10,000 and do a early change on the filter and see if I get the same results.

It is good gas. Maybe the best. The pictures indicate an improperly mantained tank and/or filter at the pump.

Hey people,

Do you realize that all of the refineries produce gasoline from the same specs. They also send it to the East coast through one pipeline. (yeah, they just meter how much they put in and take out)

I'm sure we do. Only difference is the additives.

At first glance I too thought you were suggesting "improperly maintained"car gas tank (versus the station's tank).[&:]

All teh big brands are fine.. it's the local/regional stations. BP in MI and OH is **** because of who owns the stations.. Cities were the oil companies are in control of the stations.. and not a privite owner with a particular branding.. are more predictable.
If you find a clean privately owned station and have no problems.. stick with them (good to support the "little guy").
BP and Shell put a lot of additives in their gas.. and are equally as good on paper. If a tanker rolls up and pours that gas into an old rusty tank that's 30 years old... the brand isn't the problem.

Just buy the gas at a newer, clean station and you should be fine.

Hey stick with the BP gas from now on IMHO. Friend got bad gas from Shell and lost 3 injectors and the fuel lines and filter needed to be chenged as well. Cost big money and warranty did not cover it (long story). Just an FYI.....I will never buy shell....but others swear by it!
