The drivers side headlight is a b**ch to get off, took me like 30 mins. You have to get your arm under the fuse box to get the light bulb.
Next time trying unscrewing that one screw out of the air intake hose, or whatever the heck its called lol. It moves right out of the way once that one screw is taken out. I had more problems getting the darn bulb out of the socket than anything, I ended up breaking the clips on both the passenger and driver side. The little bastages didn't want to come out at all. Oh well, at least the bulbs fit firm enough in that they didn't need those clips.

I didn't notice any problems after installing my shorty, and it's even home made so it isn't as scientific as the bought ones (if there is any science put into them like there should be)

i dont really listen to the radio almost ever so im not too worried about the reception. My friend bought a 3.5" aluminum shorty focus antenna for his cobalt and his reception is actually better lol... but again, i dont expect much.

thanks for the input guys =)

Same here except I have the 14" shorty instead of the 8" or the truck (stock) one.

When I planned on getting rid of the buggy whip antenna, I had a novel idea and did a search on the forum. Seems the 8" didn't provide decent reception whereas the 14" didn't impair it. I bought the 14".

AM radio won't be affected much. AM waves are bounced off the sky and back down. The height of an antenna doesn't matter for AM. You'll get better AM reception if it was lying down to receive more of the radio waves.

FM is broadcast out from an antenna and so the the height of your antenna matters.
For great AM reception on a shorty antenna, the trimmer capacitor needs to
be re-peaked for that length of antenna.

Transmitting antenna polarization determines whether or not laying
down the antenna will work better not waves bouncing off the sky....
