Default Zinc plated rotors darkening????

I just put on a set of Rotorpros rotors yesterday, and today I took the car around the block to make sure everything worked and it stopped ok.

Everything works fine, however it looks like the ugly brown brake dust has really darkened the rotors after a 1 minute trip. I remember reading Tacobill's write up on the Rotorpros and his seem to look shiny and new after several hundred miles.

Do I need new pads....and if so, what kind will prevent this or at least minimize it?

didnt have that problem with mine...i would take them for a more extensive ride then was them off and then see....the pads might have just given off extra dust while they seat with the new rotors.

Pictures would be nice. Also which direction do you have the slots going?

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. The slots and holes are in the same direction recommended in Tacobill's post on his install.....nearest hole to the center coming into contact with the brake pad first.
