Default Can someone help a girl out??

I'm in the process of buying my first mustang and I had a few questions. I feel like the dealerships have been giving me the run-around because I am a female, so I wanted to get some opinions from here because I know you guys know!! I want an 06 or 07 v6. One dealership said "you don't want the pony package" but I like that package and I don't know why he would say that (other than he didn't have oneonthe lotwith the pony package to sell me) and another dealership said that the 06 models did not have the pony package yet and I would have to get the 07.I'm frustrated because each dealershiptells me something different!!Can someone clear me up on this before I sign any papers!! Thank you!

2006 was the first year for the Pony Package. If they tell you otherwise it's because they want to sell what they have on the lot.

first find a better dealer
as far as I know the Pony package has been avalible since 06
I don't know of any downside to the package

some dealerships arn't fully informed its possable that that dealership didn't get any till 07
the dealership I bought from thought all gt's had leather and the interior upgrade pack
you might want to find which dealetship in your area is the most trustworthy

Go to another dealer and when you get what you want, go by the other dealer and rub their nose in it. YOU LOST A SALE BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T LISTEN TO ME!!!!!!!!!

Better yet, go looking on line in your area. Way better than stepping onto a lot looking for something they may not have.

I'm currently looking for just the right 05-06 Nissan Titan Crew Cab SE Black or Charcoal with the audio package and captains power seats and chrome trim. I'm being very picky but I'm also not in a big rush. When I find the one I want, I will simply call in advance, let them know what I'm willing to pay for it (reasonable of course) and tell them if they want my business to have the paper work waiting for me when I get there. I already have preapproval from my bank. No GAP insurance, no extra insurance to cover my payments if i can't make the payment, reasonable extended warranty. That's it.

Take your time, do you research. I can tell you tehre are certainly more used mustangs out there than titans!

Does sound like the typical "run around". I had to threaten to walk off the dealers lot before they succumbed and got me the car with the options I wanted. They have incentives for selling you what they have in stock. Some appear to not even want to deal with you if you don't want what they have on their lot.

Don't let then pull that crap. They can do an area dealer search and find what you want. Not sure about the pony package unavailability for 06' though. You may have a hard time finding the car you want in an 06' model. I purchased my 07' about 3 months ago and had a hard enough time finding the one I wanted. It's going to be slim pickings this time of year...

It's not all because you are a female. I get the same misinformation when I shop for cars, as well. It's mostly because car salesmen DON"T KNOW their product like they should. They move around from one dealership to another, never becoming the expert on the the models they are selling. And like others have said, they just want to sell something and they would prefer to sell something already on the lot. Just be determined to wait until you find the car you want and don't be SOLD on something else.

+1 to both Lees and Rubrignitz

Most salesman don't know anything on the cars, they're focused on trying to get the sale. Have them do a search for you to see if there's a car with your desired options & color available, then have them bring it down for you. If they won't do that or even search teh system, go to a different dealer. Took me going to 4 dealers to finally find one that would work with me and get me what I wanted. Been happy ever since

Heres some of the problems i see.
1. finding an 06 with all the options you wat may be hard.
2. how well was the used 06 that you are setteling fortaken car of.
3. will you be happy to just settel for and 06 just because the price was lower.
Things to think about..
1. Just what options do you want other than the pony package. i.e. do you want a Shaker 500 or 1000 sound system with it? do you want the upgraded wheels? do you want a stick or auto trans? do you want a hard top or soft top? do you want theIUP package. do you want leather or cloth..

I'm not trying to make your head spin here. I just want to give you plenty to think about because buying an 06 means youmay have ato settle on things you want with you new stang.
Now buying one of the last of the 07'syou may have a better chance of finding the options your looking foror you could order an 08 with the exact options you want or pick one off the lot thats as close to what your looking for. but that mean you will be settling again.

Also don't let thesales guys treat you like your stupid if you don't like the way some one is treating you then sayto them you just lost the saletell them you want a different sales person i bet he will changehis tone really quick. just remember the sales people make comishion only so it's in there best intrest to treat you wit respect and dignity or they could loos the sale. if they step out of line just remind themof that.
